MOULTONBOROUGH PUBLIC LIBRARY
CIRCULATION LIBRARY ASSISTANT
FULL-TIME
NON-EXEMPT

Are you passionate about helping others and community engagement? Do you believe a library is more than just a place for books, but a hub for connection and discovery? The Moultonborough Public Library is seeking a friendly, organized, and community-oriented Circulation Library Assistant to join the staff. In this role, the Library Assistant will take initiative to help visitors of all ages navigate everything from the latest bestsellers to digital resources and library events.

Specific Duties
This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position that plays a vital role in daily operations. The Circulation Library
Assistant is responsible for:
● Patron Engagement: Welcoming visitors, assisting with research and reader’s advisory, and helping patrons access digital and downloadable resources.
● Circulation: Handling check-ins/outs, managing holds and interlibrary loans, and assisting with meeting room and museum pass reservations.
● Community Outreach: Managing homebound deliveries and creating opportunities for the community to engage with library resources.
● Technical Support: Assisting visitors with computers, printers, and office equipment.
● Safety & Operations: Participating in opening procedures and supporting library safety initiatives.

Qualifications Required
● A Service-First Mindset: You are welcoming, professional, and excel at building relationships with a diverse public.
● Technology Skills: You are comfortable with Google Workspace, library software, and basic office hardware.
● Problem-Solving Skills: You take initiative, work well independently, and are not afraid to ask questions when needed. You also work well and collaboratively with other staff.
● Adaptability: You can shift priorities in a fast-paced environment and are willing to work a varied schedule, including evenings and Saturdays.
● Education: A high school diploma is required. A Bachelor’s degree and prior library/service experience is preferred.

Position Details
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm with one Saturday 8:30am-1pm per month. Flexibility to adjust working hours preferred.
Starting Wage: $23.00- $25.00 per hour to start.
